Before & After Treatment Instructions
To ensure the best results from your treatments, please carefully follow these pre and post-treatment guidelines. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact our team.
Before Your Treatment
For All Treatments
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment
- Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours before your appointment
- Inform us of any new medications you are taking
- Check our list of medications that may cause photosensitivity
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, or creams
Laser Hair Removal
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks before treatment
- Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams for 4 weeks before treatment
- Stop using products containing retinol, glycolic acid, or other exfoliants 3-5 days before treatment
Microneedling & PRP
- Discontinue use of retinoids, vitamin A creams, and exfoliants 3-5 days before treatment
- Avoid blood-thinning supplements and medications (like aspirin, ibuprofen) for 1 week before treatment (if medically permitted)
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup
- For PRP treatments, eat a good meal and drink plenty of water before your appointment
Injectables (Botox & Fillers)
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 1 week before treatment (if medically permitted)
- Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours before treatment
- If you've had cold sores in the treatment area previously, let us know as you may need antiviral medication
After Your Treatment
Laser Hair Removal
- Apply cold compresses if needed for discomfort
- Keep the treated area clean and dry
- Apply sunscreen with SPF 30+ to the treated area when going outside
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for 24-48 hours
- Do not exfoliate the treated area for at least 1 week
- Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for at least 2 weeks
Microneedling & PRP
- Expect redness and sensitivity similar to a mild sunburn for 24-72 hours
- Keep the treated area clean; wash with a gentle cleanser
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours after treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ when outdoors
- Do not use pools, hot tubs, or other potential sources of infection for 48-72 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours
- Do not use retinoids, vitamin A creams, exfoliants, or acids for at least 1 week
Injectables (Botox)
- Remain upright for 4 hours after treatment
- Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours
- Avoid extreme heat (saunas, hot tubs) for 24-48 hours
Injectables (Fillers)
- Apply cold compresses to reduce swelling if needed
- Avoid pressure on the treated area for 24-48 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours
- Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours
- Avoid extreme heat (saunas, hot tubs) for 24-48 hours
- Sleep with your head elevated for the first night
- If you notice any unusual swelling, asymmetry, or other concerns, contact us immediately
When to Contact Us
While mild redness, swelling, and sensitivity are normal after many treatments, please contact us immediately if you experience:
- Severe pain, swelling, or bruising
- Persistent redness or irritation lasting longer than expected
- Signs of infection (increased warmth, pus, fever)
- Blistering or severe skin reactions
- Any unusual or concerning symptoms
